A significant leap in the Audiovisual Industry

The Ibiza Film Commission reached an important milestone by joining the Spain Film Commission network and the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). This achievement marked a significant breakthrough both nationally and internationally, allowing Ibiza to join some of the most influential networks in the audiovisual industry.

Inclusion in Spain Film Commission

On May 28, 2024, the inclusion of the Ibiza Film Commission and the Segovia Film Commission in the Spain Film Commission network was announced. With these two new memberships, the territorial network grew to 45 members, covering the entire country and representing a 15% increase from 2022. This expansion is a reflection of the continued commitment to facilitate and promote the management of filming in Spain.

The mission of the Ibiza Film Commission includes the facilitation of municipal administrative procedures and support to companies at all stages of production. They provide institutional support, legal certainty and tax incentives, essential elements for attracting audiovisual productions. They also advise on the diversity of locations available in Ibiza, ranging from urban environments and emblematic buildings to natural areas and open spaces.

Partnership with AFCI

In addition to joining the Spain Film Commission, the Ibiza Film Commission joined the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). This inclusion allows Ibiza to network with film commissions around the world, generating synergies with multiple territories and increasing the island’s visibility in the global audiovisual industry.

Benefits and missions

Inclusion in these networks brings numerous benefits. The Ibiza Film Commission can now collaborate more closely with other film commissions, share best practices and attract more film shoots to the island. They offer contacts with local audiovisual and event professionals, supporting projects in all phases of development.

Spain Film Commission, since 2001, leads the attraction, attention and management of film shoots in Spain. In addition to supporting its members, it promotes the country as a filming destination and strengthens the industry through the “Spain, European Audiovisual Hub” Plan. This plan includes key projects to attract foreign filming and investment, enhance the competitiveness of the business fabric and value national talent.
