The short film Boliche, directed by Ibizan filmmaker Helher Escribano and produced by Auna Producciones and Xindri Productions in co-production with IB3, began filming at the beginning of this December in different interior locations the island of Ibiza.
The short film stars the young balearic actress Guiomar Caiado, known for her recent performance in the Netflix series The Body on Fire. In addition, it has actors as Jon Plazaola and Marian Vilalta in its cast.
Boliche tells the story of Anna, an eight-year-old girl from a rural Ibizan family who wins a black pig in a popular race. Anna becomes attached to the animal and names him Boliche, who soon becomes her faithful companion and best friend.
What Anna doesn’t imagine is that her family and neighbours are preparing the traditional “matances” (slaughter) festival. From that moment on, Anna will try to save Boliche at any cost.
Boliche is a film aimed at a family and international audience, a broad audience that enjoys the adventure and fantasy genre and stories about children.
With the support of the Balearic Government from ICIB and IEB, as well as the Ajuntament d’Eivissa from Vila Jove, the project is filmed in ibizan language, in the interior of an Ibiza completely removed from the stereotypes of the island.
