Ibiza is shown at FITUR as the paradise to shoot in order to promote film tourism in the island

The Ibiza Film Commission together with the Mallorca Film Commission and the Menorca Film Commission have shared an stand during the International Tourism Fair in Madrid (FITUR) in order to give visibility to the locations of the three islands.

The film ‘La corriente’ – Ibiza Blue by director Jesús Lloveras was presented at FITUR before its premiere at the 38th edition of the Santa Bárbara International Film Festival (SBIFF).

Madrid has been the scene of the different activities that have been carried out by the Ibiza Film Commission last week during the celebration of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR).

The Film Commissions of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza joined forces to promote the magnificent locations that the islands have to host film shoots, advertising spots, series, etc.

From January 18th to the 22nd, at the stand located in pavilion number 8, different work meetings and professional meetings have been held to promote the wonderful enclaves in Ibiza and the possibilities that the film industry has there in order to encourage cinematographic tourism on the island.

During those days, the Ibiza Film Commission has held meetings with different entities such as the Association of Advertising Production Companies of Spain (APCP) and with representatives of Fresco Films, for example.

In addition, a meeting with the director Jesús Lloveras, who presented at the stand of the Ibiza Council together with the actor Miguel Ángel Silvestre the film shot in Ibiza ‘La corriente’ – Ibiza Blue that premieres at international festivals in the Santa Barbara Film Festival 2023 next February. Lloveras wanted to know in first-hand the activities that the Ibiza Film Commission is carrying out to facilitate the tasks that directors, screenwriters and producers must carry out when starting up their audiovisual projects in the island.

In addition, on the night of Thursday 19th, the Ibiza Film Commission team also attended the event: ‘Ibiza: Art and Culture’ organized by the Ibiza Council in which the artistic, cultural and cosmopolitan talent of the island met.

The directors of the two Ibiza film festivals presented this year’s editions. On the one hand, Xavi Herrero, director of the Ibiza International Independent Film Festival (IbizaCineFest) to be held from February 17th to 26th and on the other hand, Helher Escribano, director of the Ibiza Film Festival (Ibicine) presented the poster of the VI edition and the novelties that this year we will be able to see from April 15th to 22nd. This event brought together more than 300 people and was concluded by President Vicente Marí stating that: “Whatever you are looking for, you will find it in Ibiza”.
